A Softphone is a software application that enables VoIP telephone calls from desktop and laptop computers.

Q: How does the Softphone work with ImpactConnect Hosted PBX?
A:

We recommend a third-party Softphone solution by CounterPath (Bria 4) that allows you to make and receive calls from your desktop. For more information about CounterPath and the Bria 4, click here.

Q: How can I get the Softphone?
A:

You can buy the Softphone for your PC or Mac on the CounterPath website here.

Q: How much does the Softphone cost?
A:

If you are already an ImpactConnect Hosted PBX user, there is no additional monthly charge for the Softphone. However, you will need to purchase the Softphone software application from CounterPath. If you do not require a desk phone, we have optional pricing for a Virtual Seat. Please contact our Sales team at 844-535-0701 for more information about the Virtual Seat.

Q: What type of computer will the Softphone work on?
A:

The Softphone works on your PC or Mac.

Q: What features can I use with the Softphone?
A:

You can make and receive calls, participate in three-way conference calls, and access your ImpactConnect Hosted PBX voicemail.

The Softphone is also compatible with the ImpactConnect Hosted PBX Star Codes.

Q: How do I set up my Softphone?
A:

Buy the Softphone application here. Then, contact Customer Support and you’ll be sent user credentials and registrations instructions. Once you receive your user credentials, configure your account settings by entering your user credentials in the appropriate boxes in the Softphone account settings tab. Q: How can I start using my Softphone?
A:

You can start using your Softphone by registering your account with the user credentials you received from Customer Support. Then, you can start making and receiving phone calls from your desktop.

Q: How do I get my login credentials?
A:

Please request Softphone credentials during your New Customer Order process or contact Customer Support.

Q: How do I make and receive phone calls using the Softphone?
A:

To make a call, enter the phone number in the call entry field using the keypad or your computer keyboard and click the Call button or press Enter. To receive a call, click the Answer button while your Softphone is running.

Q: I already have a previous version of the Bria 4 from a different service, can I use this software?
A:

Yes, you can use your previous version of the Bria 4 from a different service, but you will still need to contact Customer Support for new login credentials to register your Softphone with your ImpactConnect Hosted PBX service.

Q: What do I do if I have a problem using my Softphone?
A:

If you are experiencing problems that are not related to your ImpactConnect Hosted PBX Softphone registration, please contact CounterPath. Please be aware that the Bria 4 is our recommended Softphone solution for ImpactConnect Hosted PBX, but it is a third party solution and we do not support it.
